“…She expressed no regret about parting with the photograph. “In any case, this kiss is engraved in my memory,” she said. “It’s a wonderful memory, is all. I don’t need the image to remember it.””

This quote from, a model in the famous Doisneau photograph of the couple kissing in Paris on the street, tells us a lot about the real function of photographs, more often people attach their own ideas and sentiments to what is being said by the photograph, or does it?

I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, different people see things differently.

This image is a famous one, and a lot of people can see it’s beauty, but it means something different to each person who see’s it.

The model doesn’t need the image, because she experienced the moment, and will forever remember it without the photograph.

excercise 3. eight colours

The exercise was actually harder than I thought it was going to be. I picked “Eight Colours” because I like bright colours. I began taking photo’s around Footscray, originally I had people and buildings, but I felt really awkward about photographing people in the street.

After wandering around for a while I decided that I could almost do a typology about graffiti as well as colour, so I made it my mission to find walls of each colour.
This was really difficult also. There was definitely enough graffiti in footscray, but it was extremely difficult to find it on all eight colours.
I’m not 100% happy with the orange I found…it’s more of a peach…but was the closest I could get.

I’m not sure how I feel about the end product, but it was fun anyway.
